While working as a lawyer, Bradley Bartholomew had an epiphany that Freud’s unconscious mind and the Hindu Inner Self were the same and located in the reptilian remnant of the brain, the original embryo brain – midbrain, hypothalamus, thalamus, and brain stem. He read the works of Sigmund Freud, then went to Bombay, bought all the books on Upanishads that fitted in a medium sized suitcase, then went to an ashram and sat under the bodhi tree for 49 days.
